8th GRADE / INCOMING FRESHMAN EVENTS
8th Grade Visitation Day
On Friday, January 16, 2009, Christian High hosts area 8th grade students at their annual visitation day. Students meet other 8th graders from area grade schools and home schools. After introductions are made, visitors participate in some mixer games, led by freshmen leaders and get an opportunity to view exhibits showcasing extra curricular activities offered and speak with upperclassmen involved in those activities. After a pizza lunch, students observe a chapel, followed by a tour of the school, meeting teachers, and a shortened example of a typical freshmen schedule.
If you are interested in attending this year’s visitation day, know of someone who would be interested, or would like more information regarding the school, please call the school office at 458-9981.
The school hosts three events for the incoming freshmen class each year.
BlueHarbor Night
On a Monday evening in May, students are invited to Christian High for pizza, then taken to the Blue Harbor Water Park for an evening of water fun! Parents drop off their students at Christian High at 6:00 p.m. and pick their child up at Blue Harbor at 9:00 p.m. A formal invitation is sent out by mail.
SummerBeach Party
In July, an evening by the beach is planned by Student Council members. Parents drop off their student for an evening of games, snacks, and fun! This evening is meant for students from various schools or home schools to get to know one another in a relaxed setting. Invitations with specific instructions (date, time, place/driving instructions, dress code, etc) are sent by mail.
Freshmen Orientation
Held in August, the school hosts a morning of orientation for all new students. School policies, locker assignments, and a question-and-answer period, followed by lunch provided by the school, completes the morning.
Locker assignments are made during this orientation, so be sure to bring your school supplies along so that you are ready to go on the first day of school.
