NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
National Honor Society membership is for sophomores, juniors, and seniors who show strengths in the areas of leadership, scholarship, character and service. Students must maintain a 3.30 grade point average throughout their three final years at Christian High.
At the beginning of each semester, beginning with the fall semester of the sophomore year, an application form must be completed with two written recommendations. One may be by a teacher, the other recommendation may be completed by someone else: a friend, pastor, or boss, for example.
There is an induction ceremony held each fall at SCCHS with a dinner and ceremony.
If a student falls below a 3.3 GPA, he/she is put on probation for one semester to pull up his/her grades. If the GPA remains below a 3.3, that student’s membership is revoked and he/she cannot apply a second time.
NHS sponsors are Mr. Myron Bolkema and Mrs. Joyce Smies.
