The Booster Club is the parent-run fundraising arm of the school to help keep tuition more affordable for all SCCHS families. Each year the Booster Board pledges financial support to the school budget and the pledge for 2010-2011 if $35,000.
Each family is expected to work two fund-raisers per year and two shifts at the Good as New Store in Cedar Grove. Sign up is done at the time of registration. Families may "opt out" of working Booster Board projects by paying an additioanl $1,000 assessment fee.
Members of the Booster Board organize fundraising efforts such as the annual Walk for Education, selling & making Cherry Pies, and the annual Golf Outing in August. Parents of current students, as well as many parents and grandparents of alumni, work at these events to help raise funds to help keep tuition affordable for all of our families.
1. Annual Walk for Education – Each fall, students gather donations and then spend an afternoon walking approximately 6 miles, raising funds for the General Educational Needs of the school.
2. Cherry Pies – Each December, order forms are distributed and collected by late January. During the first weekend in February, parents, grandparents and friends of Christian High gather at the school to make these pies, which are then frozen and distributed.
3. Golf Outing – in August, friends and supporters gather for a morning of golf at a local course. Supporters can also donate through sponsorships, giving of prizes, or help with promotion.
If there are extra funds available after the pledge has been paid, these funds allow the Booster Board to help with other needs of the school. For example, two new ranges were purchased for the school kitchen and the Booster Board helped to fund the security system in the front entry.
