C 100 Keyboarding .5 credit
This independent study is for any student who is not currently typing at or above 40 AWPM at the time of entry into SCCHS. The class primarily in-cludes development of keyboarding skills, with some review of Windows, basic proofreading skills, and general computer knowledge.

C 200 Word Processing/Internet .5 credit

Pre-requisites: Keyboarding (or pass proficiency test)
This class includes a brief review of Windows, a study of computer hard-ware, some maintenance of keyboarding skills, and an in-depth study of Word and the internet through the use of Internet Explorer. This class is required for all incoming freshmen.

C 300 Database/Spreadsheet .5 credit

Pre-requisites: Keyboarding/Word Processing,
Microsoft Excel and Access are used as tools to develop an understanding of database and spreadsheet information. Skills to be mastered with spreadsheets include layout, formatting, use of formulas, summarizing data, and charting information. Skills to be mastered with databases include gen-erating tables, various forms, and the layout of reports. Projects assigned in Excel and Access will be similar to those encountered in the real world of business.

C 500 Desktop Publishing .5 credit
Pre-requisites: Keyboarding/Word Processing,
This class is a study of computer design, including an in-depth study of Publisher and PowerPoint, and basic web page design. Utilizing basic de-sign principles, students work through the process of developing a publica-tion or presentation from idea to final copy. Students learn how to use Pub-lisher and PowerPoint, and then apply that knowledge, with an emphasis on real-life projects, including printed publications, presentations, and web pages.
