Mathematics Department
All mathematics should teach that we live in a world of mathematical certainty because God created a world of order.  From simple addition to complex calculus, it is the cornerstone of many aspects of life.  Therefore students need a basic understanding of mathematics in order to truly appreciate the beauty and awesomeness of how God’s world works.

M 100 Pre-Algebra 1 credit
This course is an introduction to higher level math that will help students understand the rules that are involved in mathematics. This class will teach students some absolute principles involved in the study of math, as well as how to use them. Because of the more technological society we live in, it is becoming more important to understand these principles.

M 200 Algebra I 1 credit
Pre-requisites—Pre-algebra; C– or approval of Math Department
This course is for students who have a basic understanding of mathematics with numbers. The course will teach the concept of using variables to do math operations and solve equalities and inequalities, developing previously learned principles and learning new ones.

M 300 Geometry 1 credit
Pre-requisite – C- or better in Algebra, or approval of Math Department
The main focus of geometry is to help the student understand special re-lationships and visual patterns. Students will investigate figures in one, two, and three dimensions and postulates and theorems that apply to these figures. This course helps to develop the process of deductive rea-soning by showing students how to prove various properties.

M 400 Algebra II 1 credit
Pre-requisite: C- or better in Geometry, or approval of Math Department
This course is a continuation of Algebra I focusing on the study of functions. Students will be introduced to the concepts of matrices, inverses, exponentials, logarithms, and trigonometry. They should develop an appreciation for the many different applications for algebra in our world today.

M 500 Functions and Statistics 1 credit
Pre-requisite: C- or better in Algebra II, or approval of Math Department
This course is offered to provide students with a higher level mathematics class in which they will learn more about functions and trigonometry. It also introduces students to the field of statistics.

M 600 Pre-calculus 1 credit
Pre-requisite: C- or better in Functions & Statistics, or approval
of Math Dept.
This course is offered for students who intend to study a mathematics-related field in college. Students will take an in-depth look at various topics including trigonometry, vectors, logic, induction, derivatives, and integrals.

M 700 Accounting 1 credit
Pre-requisite—Sophomore status
This course provides a basic understanding of the elements and con cepts of double entry accounting systems. It will help the student in organizing and keeping records that are useful in business or personal life. The activity includes entering transactions in various journals, posting to ledgers, end-of-period statements, payroll, banking activities, and taxes. Accounting is considered the language of business. This course will help the student understand more of the language of the business world and its terminology.

M 750 Advanced Independent Accounting 1 credit
Pre-requisite: B- in Accounting and approval of teacher
This class is an independent class stressing student responsibility for learning and is divided primarily into two parts. Managerial Accounting emphasizes the internal use of accounting data by managers and others involved in making day-to-day business decisions and controlling revenue, costs, and expenses. Topics include: departmental accounting, multi-store businesses, and manufacturing businesses. Financial Accounting is concerned with the organization and control of financial resources, ac-counting for partnerships and corporations, and interpreting financial in-formation.

M 800 General Business 1 credit
Besides reviewing basic math skills, this class will help students under-stand the business and economic environment and how it relates to them as an individual or as a businessman. The student will better understand their responsibilities and be more able to discern which are better choices for them as Christians. This course includes specifics such as investments, credits, budgets, banking, insurance, and employee responsibilities that should be understood by all Christians.

M 900 Calculus 1 credit
Pre-requisite: B- or better in Pre-Calculus or approval
of Math Dept.
This class is an independent study class and will be offered as needed. For more information on this class please contact the school administrator or chair of the math department.
