Rules and Regulations
- Groups will perform as a band or act out a song from a musical.
- Songs and accompanying videos must be appropriate (discretion of Air Band Committee)
- Contestants must wear appropriate clothing (discretion of Air Band Committee)
- No suggestive dancing or lyrics (discretion of Air Band Committee)
- Group wardrobes must be relevant and must consist of appropriate clothing.
- The number of bands allowed in the competition will be limited according to the number of entries.
- Winners will be determined by a panel of judges including teachers and students from different schools. To view exact criteria click here.
- Groups will be required to pay a non-refundable entry fee of $25.00 at auditions.
- The winning group will be awarded a cash prize of $100
- The winning group will be awarded a traveling trophy to be displayed at their school until the next Air Band competition.
Suggestions
- Check your calendar to make sure that all members of your team can make it to auditions and Air Band. See “Important Dates” futher down the page.
- You will be performing in front of every school in the conference. Careful planning and lots of practice time is a must. Don’t audition unless you are serious and well-prepared.
- Create videos as a means of introduction and/or as an accompaniment to the song/act.
- Stage props can go a long way
- The Air Band committee will be looking for a variety of genres. Groups will have an advantage by being unique.
