- Pick up college applications in the counseling office or request colleges to mail them to you
- Visit college campuses
- Register to take the October SAT
- Register to take the October ACT if you have not taken it or want to retake it.
- Register to take the November SAT
- Check Counseling Office to see when college representatives will be at SCCHS.
- Start your search for private scholarships. Look into possibilities such as parent’s employers, local clubs and organizations.
October
- Complete and send in college applications
- Attend College Night programs
- Take the SAT
- Visit College Fairs.
- Use days off from school to visit colleges
- Take ACT
- Register for December SAT
- Complete and send in applications.
November
- Take November SAT.
- Use days off from school to visit colleges
- Register to take the December ACT.
- Complete and send in college applications.
December
- Complete and send in college applications.
- Take December ACT
- Continue your search for private scholarships. Look into possibilities such as parent’s employers, local clubs and organizations.
January
- Complete and send in college applications.
- Work on FAFSA with your parents. Mail in after January 1)
- Attend Financial Aid Night at SCCHS.
- Use days off from school to visit colleges.
February
- Submit FAFSA by mid-February
- Use days off from school to visit colleges.
March
- Respond to any requests for information from college admissions and financial aid offices.
- Use days off from school to make final college visits.
- Use spring break as a time to visit those colleges that have accepted you.
April
- Look over financial aid packages and make decision .
May
- Send in acceptance letter and deposit to college of your choice. Notify other colleges that you will not attend in fall
June
- Leave request with counseling office to have your final transcript sent to your college of choice.
